Just in time for Christmas, it's Jesse Rivest and the Recent Developments dropping down the chimney of Mighty Mighty (Wellington) this Wednesday eve! We've got a tasty plate of tunes on the table, short and sweet like Grandma's shortbread - hope you can make it. Bring your own milk.

Once again, the Recent Developments are:

• Peter Cogswell on wire brushes, kick-box, shakers, tambourines and yes, even sleigh bells

With some travelling and adventures in store for a couple of us in the new year, it's uncertain as to when our next appearance will be - so we hope you can make this show! And honestly, where would you rather be - late last minute shopping or hanging at the ever cool Mighty Mighty with us?

I'm playing an opening set of my tunes at my friend Vorn's concert this upcoming Thursday - it's gonna be a cool show because Vorn and band are planning to record a live CD from this concert. Come make some noise and it'll be a fun night! Vorn's band is one of the first bands I saw in Wellington when I arrived in 2006, and I quickly became a fan. I'll probably play 30 to 45 minutes and then the evening will turn very uniquely Vornesque.

I'm looking forward to my show in Wellington next Friday - it's gonna be fun to have Stu Pedley join me with his mandolin on several songs. I've picked a nice little licensed venue that we can easily fill up, especially if you bring a friend, ha ha. Or a date... Yes, bring a date and I will save a romantic song for last. Oh, and early birds get the best seats!

As some of you know, I have a little video camera and I plan to use it - I'll somehow video record this show while I'm playing. I've just been down to the "pimp my body" shop to get an extra arm attached to my waist and this week I'll be learning to use it.

I'm putting on a Friday evening (October 9) concert at Mojo Invincible on Willis Street. I intend to have some fun by adding a musician or two to some songs, and I plan to video record some of the show (especially for you Canadians that I won't be seeing this year). The venue has a warm interior/ambience and offers a good selection of wine, beer, and light food. I'll update you as the details unfold!
