Wellington residency and a video
Hi all, just a quick snippet of words by my typey fingers to tell you that Peter, Brendan and I (JR and the Rec Devs) are playing Thursdays at Daddy O's on Manners Street (used to be Manners Mall) - next to Abrakebabra. That's happening this January for certain so come on down! Check Twitter for start times on the day. Actually, Peter will alternate weeks; he's with us this week and off the next, and so forth.
Also, here's our latest video for your viewing and sharing pleasure:

Still travelling... and a special giveaway
Wow, I can't believe it's been nearly a year since my last update; since I released Everyelsewhere EP! It's true that time flies when you're having fun. Or, you could say time flies when you're living. Or time flies. Well, I'm trying to pay no attention to time.
Before I go further, I would like to announce that, effective now, if you buy Everyelsewhere EP from my Bandcamp store, I will email you a free download code for Seventeen Oh-Two Oh-Six! That's right - until further notice - you get a free high quality digital download of Seventeen Oh-Two Oh-Six when you purchase Everyelsewhere EP. Just make sure you leave a good email address so i can email you the download code. Tell a friend!
If you've been following on Facebook, you may remember some of the events of my year; from hitchhiking the North Island of New Zealand in February; to Buenos Aires in May; to Canada, friends and family from June to September; and then back to Buenos Aires. I'm still in Buenos Aires!
I have a couple favourite places here in Buenos Aires where I go to work on some new songs; and it's a bit tricky but I am also looking for performance and collaboration opportunities while I'm here. I did play several short notice shows in Canada; most exciting for me was one in Montreal on my first ever visit - a cool city!
Well, I'll keep this short, however I do invite you to join me on Facebook or Twitter. Until next time, rock on!

New release! Everyelsewhere EP
It is with a great sense of accomplishment that I announce my latest release - Everyelsewhere EP! I've worked quite some time on it - it's been a great developmental experience for me in all aspects of music production: arrangement, recording, mixing, mastering, artwork, etc. The best part of it all for me was working with other people to get it done - musician and artist friends who I am grateful to and enjoyed working with. The release webpage says the rest; from this point I plan to do some travelling, living, eating, and writing... and ultimately some more music production!
You are welcome to listen and share using the players/links provided.
Thanks!
Jesse

All I want for Christmas is the Rec Devs
Just in time for Christmas, it's Jesse Rivest and the Recent Developments dropping down the chimney of Mighty Mighty (Wellington) this Wednesday eve! We've got a tasty plate of tunes on the table, short and sweet like Grandma's shortbread - hope you can make it. Bring your own milk.
Once again, the Recent Developments are:
- Brendan Schenk on banjo/accordion/mandolin
- Peter Cogswell on wire brushes, kick-box, shakers, tambourines and yes, even sleigh bells
With some travelling and adventures in store for a couple of us in the new year, it's uncertain as to when our next appearance will be - so we hope you can make this show! And honestly, where would you rather be - late last minute shopping or hanging at the ever cool Mighty Mighty with us?
- music starts 8:00pm on December 22 @ Mighty Mighty on Cuba Street, Wellington
- The Wanted Sessions evening - we're in between the lovely sounding City Oh Sigh and the newly expanded Blackwater
Happy holidays!
Jesse
